Elaine Moore's DARK DESIRE, Moore, first title in a three-book sale to iBooks, Inc. (distributed by Simon & Schuster), a vampire romance. Ms. Moore's writing has been likened to Anne Rice (Mass Market, North American).Authorlink Literary Group has negotiated licensing deals with Crime Library/Time Warner, and Optomen Productions for The Discovery Channel, and in Europe with World of Wonder television productions of London.
FACILITATED PROJECTS
The parent site enables authors to pitch editors and agents on their own through online queries. The agency does not acquire its authors from the site, nor take agency commissions for any facilitated sale or connection. Through the years, however, Authorlink.com, has facilitated sales and representation for more than a hundred fiction and nonfiction properties to publishers such as HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster, John Wiley & Sons, McGraw-Hill, and others.

FICTION
BULLY BE GONE: THE MISADVENTURES OF MILLICENT MADDING by Brian Tacang, writing as Simon P. Binaohan, in a two-book deal to HarperCollins (Harper Children's). The deal, probably in the mid- to high six-figures, was sold to editor Leann Heywood by agent Joe Veltre at Carlisle & Company as a direct result of Veltre having spotted Tacang's work on Authorlink. Creative Artists Agency, Inc. (CAA) handles film rights. "That one page listing on Authorlink sold me," said Veltre. "I loved it. After reading only a few paragraphs I knew we had something." The sale is one of the largest made on Authorlink. Brian's two titles became the 84th and 85th deal (now more than 100 deals) to sell via Authorlink since tracking began.
IT'S HOW YOU PLAY THE GAME, by Jimmy Gleacher, sold to Brant Rumble at Scribner (Simon & Schuster), as a direct result of Authorlink."Gleacher's cheeky debut begins as an ironic romantic comedy about a tentative 20-something couple as they edge toward commitment," says Publishers Weekly, "but the author displays a stunning gift for black humor when the hidden motives for their partnership suddenly emerge."
Ida Mae Tutweiler and the Traveling Tea Party, by Ginnie Siena Bivona, a novel published by Authorlink Press (not accepting new projects), has been sold to Hallmark Studios for development as a television screenplay based on the book. The screen adaptation, titled Bound by a Secret , scheduled to air March 7, 2009, starring Meredith Baxter and Lesley Ann Warren. Darrell Orm is the screen writer on the project.
MEMOIR
SLIM TO NONE, by Graydon D. (Dee) Hubbard directly sold from Authorlink to Michele Pezzuti at McGraw-Hill. The poignant story of his daughter's long (and fatal) journey through the wasteland of anorexia treatment is told mostly through her hospital journals. McGraw Hill editor Michele Pezzuti spotted the work on Authorlink, made a direct request for the materials, and subsequently offered a contract. First-time author.NON-FICTION
BEYOND ANGER: A GUIDE FOR MEN by Thomas J. Harbin, Ph.D, to Avalon (Marlowe & Company). The book originally sold to John Muir Publications as a direct inquiry to Authorlink from the publisher. Muir later was acquired by Marlowe. First-time author.
PROFITS IN NATURAL RESOURCES by Roland Jansen, to John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Both the agent, Elizabet McHugh, and the publisher made direct simultaneous requests for this work, ultimately represented by McHugh and sold to Wiley. First-time author.
SPACE FOR WOMEN, A HISTORY OF WOMEN WITH THE RIGHT STUFF by Pamela Freni, to Seven Locks Press, as a direct result of Authorlink.
PATENTS AND TRADEMARKS PLAIN AND SIMPLE by Michael Jester, to Career Press, as a direct result of Authorlink. Jester became the 83rd author to sell his work with the help of Authorlink. Originally titled PATENTS: A PRACTICAL LEGAL GUIDE FOR INDIVIDUALS AND SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS.Based in Dallas, Authorlink Literary Group works mainly with New York publishers.
